The result is a spider from the stringed and muscular line, with many reenactations of the small ancestor especially in the posterior. Bodywork and chassis are completely new and give rise to a mix between the RX-8 coupé (of which it shares part of the chassis and suspensions) and the first series of the MX-5. The car, apart from the direction indicators, has nothing in common with the old models. The NC was put on sale in the second half of 2005. The MX-5 was produced in four generations, identified by the acronym of the Chassis: NA (1989 – 1997), NB (1998 – 2005), NC (2005 – 2015) and ND (2015-today).
